The verb LACK

The verb “lack” expresses the idea that something or someone does not have “enough” of something.



It lacks a good supermarket = it does not have a good supermarket


… the town is lacking a good postal service…


This sentence means that the town does not have a good postal service. 

THE ADVERB:  ENOUGH

Uses of enough…
Example enough clauses
There isn’t + enough + singular noun
There isn’t enough time to get to the 8-o’clock movie.
There aren’t + enough plural noun
There aren’t enough restaurants in this city.
- of have + enough + plural noun
This town doesn’t have enough restaurants.
These neighborhoods don’t have enough parks.
